THE RULES for never an honest word,
The Basics.
We are a LITERATE site meaning we range from Intermediate to Advanced posting requirements. 600 words per post is the minimum. But, feel free to post more. In fact, we highly encourage it. ;] Be nice. Plain and simple. Respect everybody and do not start useless arguments. It's absolutely unacceptable. We do not use the warning system here, so if the Admins feel as if you are completely out of line, we can kick you out. No fighting out of character! Debates held in an adult-like manner are acceptable. But, keep in mind, the writer isn't a jerk because their character is. Don't hold it against them.
Registering.
Your display name must be your character's full name (first middle last) in lowercase letters. We allow either a period or a comma after your name, but nothing more. (GOOD ex. john paul jones,) (BAD ex. $$JOhN PAUl JOnEZ%^) One character per account- no exceptions. You can have multiple characters, but please keep track of them!
Auditioning.
Do not post anywhere with your character before your application has been accepted! You can only post in Out of Character Discussions. When you submit your application, DO NOT edit the form! Do not change the colors, do not change the alignment, do not add new fields or combine the existing ones. It will make the Admins severely mad. And I'm not joking in the slightest. We do not reserve face claims! So, once your application has been accepted by the Administrator, immediately head over and claim your celebrity play-by. Make your character realistic! No special powers, vampires, goblins, elves or whatever else you can think of. This is not a fantasy role-play. Please use age appropriate characters. I do not want to see Johnny Depp as an eighteen year old. He obviously is not eighteen. We do not accept MySpace or DeviantArt kids as play-bys.
Role-playing.
Posts are a minimum of 600 words! We are a very literate site and we appreciate GOOD WRITING. Thank you very much. You must write in a 3rd person novel format. Use correct punctuation with quotations and periods at the end of sentences. From this point on, spell check is your best friend. Spend time with it, embrace it, maybe develop a relationship with it. Sexual innuendos, drugs, alcohol, and pregnancy can be, and will be, role-played here, but we do not allow sex scenes. If you are going to proceed in the direction of a sex scene please end the thread before doing so. We are not interested in the details. You can post in more than one thread at a time. But, please keep up with where you have posted. Inactive threads will be moved once if has been inactive long enough. The feelings expressed during role-play do not mirror those of the writer themselves, so we ask that none of what it is stated by their character to be considered as true emotions from the player. In other words, keep the fights in role-play areas ONLY. If you are going to use colors for In Character posts, please keep it to a minimum.
Signatures & Avatars.
Avatar images must be 100 x 100. Both the signature and the avatar themselves must be pictures of your character. No animals, silly quotes from other media, or indecent exposure (this includes bathing suit pictures). Signatures MUST NOT stretch the board size or be long enough to make me want to kill myself every time I scroll past it. Do not steal signatures! We have very capable graphic designers here. Use them!
Claiming & Other Sign-Ups.
Face claims, while optional, are highly recommended. But, hey, if you fail to do so and then someone else uses your PB, don't complain. It was your own fault. Don't claim if you don't use. If you claim a PB, you have to have a signature (or at least an avatar) displaying them. It's not fair to others, who actually would use it. It is up to you whether or not to claim an email, AIM, what have you. Signing up for after-school activities, sports, etc. is also optional, but know that it does play a part in class rank, and also helps your character get into a good college. Signing up for class rank is not optional for senior characters. While you may not have your character be in the top 25, 10, etc., it is still important to know how they rank within the class. So if your character is a senior, you have to reply to that. While signing up for activities and stuff is important, know that one person cannot be captain of every single team, or president of every single club. Let someone else be a leader once in a while.
